Humanitarian Help related to COVID-19 pandemic by the KMFAP Priory of Benin

In March 2020, as part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Priory of Benin of the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta, Federation of the Autonomous Priories (KMFAP) in Africa has decided to support the health authorities of Benin. In this context, the knights of the Priory ordered – with the support of Prof. Henri NSIKA, President of COCOPE – a batch of 25 respiratory assistance devices from the USA.

The images and technical characteristics of the equipment can be found here:

Each device consists of an oxygen concentrator, a filter, a breathing capsule and a breathing mask. These devices will be offered to the Republic of Benin by the KMFAP Priory of Benin and the Malta Cross Foundation – Benin and will be delivered directly to the Embassy of Benin in Washington (USA) to be transported to Benin by the care of the same Embassy. This donation is of utmost importance for Benin because to date, the country has only 4 such devices.

The proof of transfer of funds to the seller of the devices as well as the invoice can also be found here:

In addition, our young FEMERAID International – Benin Unit also purchased response health consumables (masks, gloves, overalls and hydro alcoholic gels), which will be offered directly to the Ministry of Health in Benin. The official report and photos of the ceremonies about the presentation of these donations will be sent soon, both what will be handed over to the Embassy of Benin in Washington on behalf of Malta Cross Foundation – Benin, as well as what will be handed over to the Benin Ministry of Health by the FEMERAID International – Benin Unit in Cotonou.
